Host an herb class! Choose from 3 herb plants with different soil and care needs, including chives, rosemary, and oregano. Each class attendee will select the herb of their choice.
Alabama Expressions will provide everything needed to learn how to plant a young herb, prepare soil that will most benefit the plant, choose a pot that will help create the best moisture levels for the plant, and understand light and water needs of different herbs.
Class attendees should use the discount code provided by their host so we can coordinate all the arrangements for your class. Each guest will receive $10.00 off if your event includes ten or more guests!
Nursery-grade planters, for the size of the starter plant, will be provided for your arrangement. However, guests may bring a loved pot they already have, or purchase a decorative pot separately that will fit their decor and needs as the plant grows, using this link. Make sure to follow the pot specifications for the herb you choose. Have the pot delivered to your address so you may bring it to the event.
Pot specifications:Oregano - unglazed clay, terracotta, coir lined wire basket, or stone pot with drainage hole: 6-8 inch diameter. Chives - plastic, glazed clay, coir with plastic lining in wire basket, or ceramic pot: 4-6 inch diameter, shallow pot with drainage hole. Rosemary - glazed clay, ceramic, plastic pot with drainage hole: 10-12 inch diameter, deep pot for root growth.
Hosts may choose the venue to hold this event (your home, public place like a park that has granted you permission for this event, venue you have rented, or ask me via email to find a venue—any cost will be extra, including finders fee for time involved).
